Meet Talia! This five-year-old Heart Hero lives in Omaha, Nebraska and was born with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS). HRHS is a rare congenital heart defect in which the right side of the heart is underdeveloped, including the pulmonary valve, right ventricle, and tricuspid valve. Talia’s CHD was diagnosed in-utero and at 29 weeks gestational age, she underwent in-utero surgery in Boston. Since Talia’s birth, she has had six more heart surgeries and 12 heart catheterization procedures.
Talia is an amazing little girl. She challenges her parents and has changed their lives for the better. Talia has taught her family so much. Talia is a happy child who is always laughing.
Even after everything she has been through, she always has a smile on her face and has such a great demeanor towards life.
The power of the Heart Hero Cape shows strength. Talia loves to dress up and when she wears her cape it’s like her strength shines through, as she is “Super Talia”.
Since Talia has undergone so many surgeries and procedures, she and her family celebrate her life and special heart by participating in the Heart Walk, which is around Talia’s birthday, and having a birthday party afterwards.

This is a beautiful, uplifting and miraculous story. It is as precious as any Cinderella tale
This is one of the most beautiful and successful recovery tales I’ve ever heard. I pray that little Miss Talia will be blessed in the future with many, many years with her most thankful family. She and her family will have years and years with the opportunity to thank our Living Lord.
Lord.

Talia and her parents Brent and Jill are the strongest people I know. They have put their faith in God and the healthcare people and have been blessed with the best in Boston and Omaha. We love them and her brother Porter very much and pray every day for continued success
