The Superhero Heart Run monitors all health situations to make the best decision for the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers. Safety procedures and health protocols are in place for all in-person events – please see specific event page for more information. If the scheduled event is unable to take place due to a health crisis or any other situation out of our control, please see below for our full refund policy.

Inclement Weather Plan:

The safety of our attendees, volunteers and team members is our primary concern.  We strive to hold each event as planned, but sometimes weather circumstances outside of our control necessitate the changing the format of the event.  Events may be delayed, shortened or in rare circumstances, canceled due to inclement weather.  This includes lightning, wind, heat, snow, or the threat of imminent severe weather that may harm or injure participants, team members or volunteers.

Rain: We hold our runs rain or shine.  The event will NOT be canceled due to rain alone.

Lightning: The event will be postponed by 30 minutes.  If the lightning continues, then the run will be canceled.

Tornado Warning or Severe Weather: The run will be canceled in the event of a tornado warning or other forms of severe weather.

We consider the entire event timeline in making these difficult decisions.  This includes setup, check-in and activities and run time.  All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website and social media either the day of the event or the evening before, depending on weather circumstances and event timeline. No refunds or transfers allowed.

Refund Policy:

We are unable to process refunds in the event of cancellation due to weather or any other circumstances, including nonattendance or personal conflicts. Due to the planning and costs incurred with each event, we do not reschedule for inclement weather or offer rain dates.

Funds raised at this event go directly towards providing support to children and families affected by Congenital Heart Disease in the local run community, as well as supporting Heart Heroes and our partnering organizations’ missions. This includes support programs and events, support for local CHD organizations, hospital kits, Heart Hero Capes and much more!

  • All run swag and participant merchandise will be available for pickup the day of the event.  Please check the event schedule if packet pickup is offered before the run.
  • Commemorative run t-shirt, run bib, exclusive finisher’s medal and run bag are included with paid adult registrations.  Heart Hero (individuals with CHD) and 12 & under registrants will receive a run cape and finisher’s medal.  Free infant/toddler registrations do not receive run swag.
  • Heart Heroes (those with CHD) are provided a free, custom Heart Hero Cape from Heart Heroes, Inc.  This is a different cape than the commemorative run capes provided to the other registrants, so we can identify our honored guests! If your Heart Hero does not already have a Heart Hero Cape, please visit www.heartheroes.org to request and design a custom cape (please use organization code “SHR”).  Every effort will be made to ship the cape before the run, but cannot be guaranteed.
  • Capes, bags, and medals will be provided with walk-up registrations as available (but are not guaranteed).
  • Keep an eye on your email for event information and day-of details!

EVERYONE! All attendees must register for the event and sign a waiver. This includes all adults, children and infants/toddlers. Due to liability and venue policies, we are not able to offer free attendance to our events, including spectators. In addition, any/all free activities, goodies, swag and entertainment are only for event registrants.

You must contact us prior to the event for any registration transfers.  Attendees must check-in prior to participating in any activities or the run and provided run bib must be worn at all times during event.

If you have a free registration with your business sponsorship, please use your free registration code to register online (please do not wait to register day-of).

Visit the event webpage for your local event (check the “Events” tab above).  You can register, create an account login and more via the registration platform from the event page.

We will send you your free registration code with your sponsorship receipt.  We ask that our sponsors register online and start a fundraising team (please don’t wait until the day-of the event to register).  Encourage your employees, customers and friends to join you to “Save the Day for CHD”! Please contact us if you don’t receive your receipt and code.

We welcome our four-footed superhero friends, on leashes and if permitted by park/venue policy.  Service animals are always welcome.

The 5k & 2k are fun run/walks and non-competitive.  Some locations may offer a timer, but the times are for participants’ information only and are not posted, unless chip timing is offered for that specific event (available in select locations only).

Please visit the run webpage for parking details. Please note, some venues charge a parking fee or daily pass.

Run swag bags will be available for pickup at the event, unless you are registered as a Hero at Home.

Please leave them at home this time – we are leaving the routes clear for our runners, walkers and families with strollers and wagons.

Registration and donation transactions will appear on your credit card billing statement as WWW.HEARTHEROES.ORG.

Please visit the run webpage for specific information and more details about a particular event.
